This poem of the torment of vulnerability and dependency in love speaks to all of us who have found ourselves in that place I think. I love the reflection of the title in the repetition of the first two lines once again at the end of the poem, bringing home the hammer blow of the turning from the kiss that sparks an avalanche of panicked yearning.
